We are pleased to announce our first 2 zumba classes! 3 instructors from Salsambada recently completed Zumba Basic training which makes them fully qualified to teach Zumba to adults. We are hoping that with the success of these classes we can open up additional times/days/locations.
WHAT IS ZUMBA?
Zumba is a unique fitness program inspired by latin music and dance. It provides a cardiovascular workout which is exhilarating and addictive! Easy-to-follow moves have beginner and advanced options allowing students of all levels and experience to work out in the same classes. Classes are an hour long and are essentially structured like an aerobics class, however, instead of doing moves like the grapevine, the routines involve moves from salsa, merengue, cumbia and raeggaton, at varying intervals and intensity. While this program is inspired by dance, you do NOT need to have any dance experience. This program is designed for everyone, of all fitness (and coordination) levels!

CLASS STRUCTURE
We offer Zumba courses in 10 week terms. People new to Zumba may prefer starting with other new students in the first few weeks, however, new students can join at any time during the term (must advise us first by registering though!). Students can continue on for as many terms as they like. There will be a balance between repeating routines and introducing new routines over terms.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR TO CLASS
We recommend that you bring a small towel and a drink bottle to class. We also recommend wearing "cross trainers" or "aerobic" style shoes as they provide the cushion and medial lateral support needed for side-to-side movements. They also have low traction rubber for easy sliding and turning. Please be careful with "running shoes" since they use a heavy tread on the bottom and are designed for forward movement. Dance sneakers are also appropriate if you already own a pair from dance classes.
